GI (Galvanized Iron) Pipes are classified into 3 Grades based on their weight per meter and inner diameter thickness. The more the thickness, better the performance and durability. According to the IS 1239, each pipe shall bear a color strip across the circumference for identifying the “class” of the GI pipes.
These are light gauge pipes which bear a yellow color strip for identification. They are cheaper than other classes of GI Pipes.
These are medium gauge pipes which bear a blue color strip for identification. They are Costlier than Class A and Cheaper than class C.
These are heavy gauge pipes which bear a red color strip for identification. They are Costlier than other classes of the GI Pipes.
