Electrical wires come with a wide range of colors and each color is used for a different purpose. Like green colored wire is used for earthing and black is used for neutral purposes. The below chart shows the wire colors available in India and its purposes

| Red | Phase lines / Live Wires in case of single phase connection |
| Yellow / Blue | Used along with red wire in case of 3 Phase connections |
| Grey / White | Used for distribution lines / Ups / Inverter connections |
