1. Squatting Pan

So squatting pan will be connected to the drain pipe by using an ‘S' trap or ‘P' trap. This trap will avoid escape of bad order from drain line by a water seal.

This WC or EWC are designed to sit in the toilet. This kind of toilets comes with seat & cover. A Western Style toilet will be attached with a flush tank for flushing after usage. A small amount of water will be trapped inside the toilet itself by water seal, normally this water seal height will be 50 MM.

Disadvantages of Wall Hung/Back To Wall Toilets

Wall hung toilet and Back To Wall Toilets requires the cistern to be kept within the wall and can be time-consuming when it comes to a repair as well as expensive to Install.

Advantages of Close Couple Toilets

a. They are easy to clean and maintain.

b. Very easy to repair

Disadvantages of Close Couple Toilets

a. They take too much space in the bathroom

b. The spares are very expensive or some of there are no longer on sale

c. Most of them have external overflows
